Workshop
Have your drivers ready!
Collision Documentation & Fraud Recognition
Businesses that employ drivers to drive company vehicles must have a system in place that ensures the safe and efficient operation of vehicles. A company's standard operating procedure, (SOP), must include a plan of action for what the driver is to do in the event of an accident.
Currently, companies require the driver to notify the local law enforcement agency to respond, (911). When an officer arrives on scene, he or she takes charge and gathers the necessary information. The officer collects evidence to support his conclusion as to how the accident occurred and who was at fault. The company may contact their insurance company and advise them of the pending police report.
The problem now? More and more police departments no longer respond, unless there is an injury or death. You could sustain thousands of dollars worth of damage and no report will be generated by law enforcement.
When fraud must be considered.
- Parties complain of injuries days or months later.
- Lawsuits are filed months later for injuries sustained.
- An employee leaves your employment; now there is no evidence recorded, leaving your company exposed to liability.
What the workshop will teach your drivers:
It is imperative that your driver collect the necessary evidence to prove his side of the story. Just exchanging information with the other party is never enough to satisfy a claim. You have to "GET IT ALL AND GET IT RIGHT"! This might seem like a challenge too great to solve, but it’s really not, if you have the right training and tools.
I know this could be for anyone. That’s why I have developed the Traffic Collision Kit. A compact kit that fits in your vehicle and can be used to systematically record the information that you need to protect your company.
I offer a class to instruct your employees on how to:
- Be safe at an accident scene.
- Use the kit, & explain why certain procedures are followed.
- Summon the police, and under which circumstances.
- Recognize characteristics of a fraudulent collision.
My class will also include a simulated accident scene so the employees will have hands-on experience with the Traffic Collision Kit.
This information will also help your company keep insurance costs under control, by having less “at fault” accidents on record.
MY SERVICE TO YOU: I will instruct your employees on how to use the kit, what information to gather and why it is important. I will also make them aware of the most common fraudulent acts, (“Staged Collisions”) that occur, and why/how companies are often targeted. I offer ways to avoid getting trapped in these situations and how to report suspected fraud.
